rooCASE Apple iPad Air Executive Portfolio Leather Case

Screen Shot 2013-12-24 at 12.44.00 PMThis is a very elegantly designed and built case that seems to be ideal for people who use their iPad in professional and business settings. iPad fits in pretty securely, with all the jacks and camera openings left conveniently exposed. The inner case is removable, and allows you to separate iPad quickly without having to remove it. The case features several pockets and compartments that are suitable for storing a few light documents and notes. The case features a stylus/pen which works fine, but I was not too impressed with it. The case allows you to prop up your iPad in both landscape and portrait orientations. Unfortunately, the case is not so good at allowing you to lay the iPad with a low angle suitable for typing. The outer leather material is nice and feels rich, while the inside microfiber padding is very soft and protective.

Here are a few issues that I have with this case:

Velcro attachments – would have much preferred magnetic clasps. They are much more effective and elegant.

The case is really bulky. iPad Air’s main selling point is its light weight and reduced overall size. By putting it into this case you pretty much relinquish all of that.

Document/notes compartments are very tight and don’t allow for much extra stuff to be put into them.

Corners of the iPad are exposed.

This is still a pretty good case and if you are not too finicky about the kinds of issues that I mentioned above, it could very well serve your purpose.
