Bragi Smart Headphones

DSC09634_630The CES 2015 is already in full swing, and there has been a predictable list of the kinds of products that have been featured so far: bigger and better 4K TVs, self driving cars, drones, better 3D printers, etc. So far there have been very few truly innovative and surprising products, but the new Bragi Smart Headphones just might be the kind of product that stands out. These diminutive in-ear headphones. They are wireless – with the connecting device, as well (and this is a pretty big one) with each other. Ina  way they are glorified smart ear plugs. However, they also feature an impressive level of extra tech inside that goes well beyond the audio listening. Just a few days after seeing a story about these headphones, I was watching an episode of Black Mirror in which people in the future wear similar (yet it seems less sophisticated) headphones. We might be getting to the point where the science (or rather technology) facts are getting ahead of science fiction. We are still quite a bit away from the point where we actually merge with our technology, but these Bragi smart headphones just might be the first hint of such a convergence.
