Westinghouse 24″ Class / LED / 1080p / 60Hz / HDTV
I got this TV while I was spending a prolonged period of time away from home. I was renting an apartment at the time, and the small 19” CRT TV that we had there was inadequate for our needs. We decided to buy a new 1080p TV, and this Westinghouse model seemed to fit our needs perfectly.
The TV is pretty small and light. It comes with a small stand, which was relatively easy to install. After we moved back home I mounted this TV on the wall using an extended mounting arm – it is light enough that it can withstand this kind of mounting easily.
TV itself is OK. The picture is pretty bright, but it doesn’t have the best viewing angle visibility. As soon as you get slightly to the side of the TV the picture becomes very hard to see. Otherwise the picture quality is pretty good. The 1080p resolution looks pretty good and sharp on a screen this small. It’s probably overkill actually, since for the most part you will be watching the TV form the distances where the difference between 720p and 1080p would be hard to notice.
The sound quality of the TV is quite mediocre. It has very weak sound, which is not really surprising for a TV of this size and in this price range. If you intend to use it extensively I would strongly recommend that you get external speakers.
Once I did not need to use this unit as a TV it became a perfect secondary monitor for my home computer. As mentioned before, I mounted the TV onto the wall close to my primary monitor, and turn it on when I need extra desktop “real estate.” The TV has two HDMI and one VGA input, so it can handle being connected to several devices simultaneously. Unfortunately, it turns on pretty slowly, and sometimes it fails to detect the input signal altogether. Nonetheless, it gets the job done and I am pretty happy with it so far.
