TaoTronics® TT-MK003 Mini Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard for Tablets

Screen Shot 2013-09-24 at 11.11.33 AMThis is a pretty good Bluetooth keyboard. It is designed to look and feel like the Apple Bluetooth keyboard. As such it is ideally suited to work with the Apple devices, but it can also be used with other computers, tablets and smartphones that allow for an external Bluetooth peripherals.

If you are an Apple user, then you will immediately recognize the look of this keyboard. On the surface it looks almost identical to the Apple keyboard. However, unlike the Apple keyboard it is made entirely of plastic.

The key action is pretty good for such a device. It is not quite as smooth as that of the Apple keyboard, but for the price it’s more than impressive.

The pairing with your computer and tablet is pretty straightforward. I did not have any complications in that regard. I had paired it up with MacBook Air and iPad, and the keyboard was easily detected and connected to both of those devices. All of the functionality of the standard Apple keyboard was there.

I’ve used this keyboard for about a couple of weeks. During this time I’ve used it to write many emails and reviews, including this one (written on my iPad). It is overall a very good keyboard, with one major caveat: the pairing with my MacBook Air would disconnect very easily, and it took a few seconds to reconnect each time. It would also lose connection with my iPad, but it would reconnect much more quickly. As this keyboard is primarily intended to be used with your mobile devices anyways, I don’t think this is that big of an issue. It is certainly a worthwhile alternative to the Apple keyboard.
