Sunthin 4 W GU10 Led Bulbs, 40 W Equivalent

Screen Shot 2014-06-17 at 4.59.59 PMI’ve been holding off on the LED lighting revolution for a while, since I really didn’t like the quality of light from some early products that I tested. However, the technology has come a long way and some of the recent products are every bit as pleasing to the eye as the familiar incandescent lightbulbs.

The light bulb was easy to install. I used it in some of our recessed lighting fixtures for which I’ve used halogen lamps in the past. The lightbulbs fit right in, without any excessive extra work. They are quite a bit bulkier and heavier than the traditional lightbulbs, but they should fit into most sockets anyways.

The light was impressively bright, perhaps even brighter than their ratings. The light quality was a bit “colder” than I thought they would be, but not as off-putting as the CFLs that I had tried in the past.

These lightbulbs, like all other LEDs, should last you for decades. You should also be seeing a substantial savings in terms of your electricity bill over that timeframe, but I’ve not used them long enough at this point to be able to confirm any of this from my own experience.
