G7 Power G7A193627 500 Lumen 40-watt Replacement A19 LED Light Bulb

Screen Shot 2014-01-09 at 3.20.13 PMThis is, by far, the best looking and the best designed LED lightbulb that I’ve come across. Unlike any other LED lightbulb that I’ve seen this one actually looks and works like you would expect from a lightbulb. Light is emitted from four LED filaments, and the light is emitted uniformly and evenly in all directions. The emitted light is clear, warm and bright and it feels very natural. The clear glass enclosure also looks very elegant and natural. The overall shape of the lightbulb is closest that I’ve seen to come to the traditional lightbulb shape as well. Some of the sockets that I use are pretty narrow, and many of the other LED lightbulbs wouldn’t fit. I didn’t have any issues with this one though.

This lightbulb requires 3.6 W of power, which is just 9% of the luminosity equivalent 40 W incandescent lightbulb. The lightbulb is supposed to last you over 20 years, and over that time scale it will pay itself many times over. I don’t like the fact that this lightbulb is non dimmable, but that’s not a major issue for me. The price is also a few dollars higher than the equivalent lightbulbs from other manufacturers, but in my opinion the price difference is worth it. I am now strongly considering replacing all of my remaining incandescent lightbulbs with this particular brand.
