SecurityIng High Power 10W 1200 Lumens Zoomable LED Flashlight with Adjustable Focus

Screen Shot 2015-01-31 at 12.47.27 PMLED Flashlights have by now become quite common, and they can come in handy in a variety of uses. This particular SecurityIng flashlight provides a very bright and powerful illuminating light beam. It is powered by a long-lasting rechargeable 3.7 V battery, which, unfortunately, is not included. The battery is cylindrical and non-standard shaped, and it’s not manufactured by any recognizable brand. It’s supposed to be long lasting, but without prolonged use I will not be able to judge its merits.

One of the more annoying things about this flashlight is that it doesn’t come with included batteries. In most cases this might not be that much of an issues, but since the battery that this flashlight operates with is very nonstandard and rechargable, that means that you’ll have to invest extra money and effort in getting the battery by itself. This, unfortunately, is not prominently stated in the description of the flashlight, and the flashlight itself doesn’t come with ANY instructions or explanations. I had to go back to Amazon’s page to find out which battery I need to use. The 3.7 V battery that is used for this flashlight is actually pretty good in itself, especially the higher capacity ones. (Over 3000 mAh.) The batter, however, takes really long time to charge (at least a few hours), and it’s probably best to be left overnight for a full charge.

The flashlight throws one very bright light beam that can be illuminate well ahead. I’ve tested it up and down our street, and the 50 – 100 m illumination distance seems to be consistent with my experience. The flashlight also provides you with the ability to adjust the width of the beam, and this is one of my favorite things about it. The powerful optics in the flashlight’s head really make the beam very well defined.

The flashlight operates in three different modes – high and low beam, as well as the strobe function. I predominantly use the high beam option, but can see how the other ones can come in handy.

The flashlight is really well built. It’s made out of solid metal outside casing that fits well in your hand. The on/off button is made out of rubber and it’s not easily depressed, which is handy in case you carry the flashlight in your pocket and don’t want it going on by accident. The flashlight is well sealed and waterproof, although I have only been able to test it for water resistance (lightly sprinkled it with water).

Overall, this very well designed and built small LED flashlight. There are a couple of features that could use some improvement, but otherwise it performs as advertised. I really hope that the manufacturer provides better instructions and info in the future. 4.5 stars.
