Satechi USB Portable Air Purifier and Fan

Screen Shot 2014-08-30 at 2.53.27 PMOver the years I’ve come to appreciate the value and utility of air purifiers. Unless you live in some pristine ocean or mountain resort the quality of air your breath probably leaves a lot to be desired. Even in clean natural environments the seasonal allergens can wreak havoc with your respiratory pathways.

I own several large air purifiers and dehumidifiers. They are great for cleaning the air in medium sized to large rooms. Unfortunately, they require quite a bit of power to operate and can be really noisy. This small USB purifier is ideal for small personal spaces and for environments where you don’t have much control over the kinds of appliances you can run (your office for instance).

This purifier/fan is indeed very quiet and low on power consumption. It runs off of any standard USB port, so you can just plug it into any one of your computer’s spare ports or to an stand-alone charger. It did noticeably make the air in my home office feel fresher, especially with the fan running. I do wish it came with a rotating base so it could extend the reach of the air circulation beyond its one fixed direction.

Like all other Satechi products, this air purifier/fan is elegantly designed and fairly well built. It looks right at place in any modern work or home environment.
