I’ve owned several RC cars over the years, but this scaled-down replica of Chevy Silverado is one of the best looking and the most powerful in this class of toy cars. It is a really beautiful replica of the real thing, and in and of itself would be a great showpiece to have around. It is also a very powerful RC car with a battery that can last you for a really long time.

The car is for the most part made of the very high quality plastic, and it feels very sturdy. Certain small details, however, are still not all that well made. A few of the attachments and other small details feel like they would be easily detached after a more serious bump. I would have also liked if the doors could be opened, like in similar diecast models, but this is not a major issue as far as I am concerned.

This toy truck, just like the real one, sits well above the ground. As such it is an ideal RC car toy to use outdoors and other kinds of rough terrain. However, its motors are not up to par for overcoming harder obstacles. It could be that there is a problem with the particular unit I got, since I’ve used other RC car models from the same manufacturer and they were much more powerful.

The rechargeable battery is very good, at least compared to all the other RC cars in this category that I’ve tried to use. I was able to go on a two mile walk around the neighborhood with this car, and I still had plenty of juice left over. The battery compartment can be accessed by just flipping a little latch (no screwdriver required), which makes it very conveniently accessible. The non-standard battery charger does not give you any indications of the charge level. To be on the safe side I would leave it charging overnight.

The remote control is OK, but it’s not the best remote I came across. It feels cheaply made and not very sturdy. The controls are on the sensitive, which means that it will take you some time to get used to the more precise driving.

Overall I like this car. I wish it were easier to maneuver, as that would make it a really great RC car. I hope that the manufacturer addresses these issues in the future editions.
