9to5Cables Premium Mini DisplayPort (MiniDP)/Thunderbolt to HDMI Female Adapter
I use my old Mac Mini (2010) as a default desktop in my office. Except for the new memories which I installed about a year ago, I have not had a chance to upgrade it much, or really found a need for a major upgrade thus far. However, over the years I have acquired quite a few monitors and TV sets – they have come down in price significantly. For a while I’ve been connecting my Mac to a Westinghouse 24″ HDTV that I recently mounted on the wall of my office. So far I had it hooked up with an old VGA cable. It worked fine, but you could definitely notice that the picture quality was not quite as sharp as one would have liked.
I got this cable adapter in order to connect my Mac Mini to the HDTV via HDMI. The adapter is well made and worked just fine right out of the box. I was not able to transmit audio from my computer, but this was fine with me since I could use external sound system. The older Macs don’t let you transmit audio via the displayport, so this might not be the defect with the adapter. The picture quality was perfect, and I enjoyed watching online video on my TV. The price of this product is also quite competitive, especially compared to its Apple-branded equivalent. I was very satisfied with this product and would recommend it to anyone who wants to connect a Mac computer to a TV.
