Wolfram Problem Generator
There was some really exciting news earlier this week coming from Wolfram Research. Wolfram Research is, of course, the company that makes Mathematica and in recent years Wolfram Alpha, the cool calculation app behind Apple’s Siri among other things. The new product coming out of Wolfram is Wolfram is Wolfram Problem Generator. It’s an app (for the lack of a better term) that automatically generates multiple-choice problems in various areas of mathematics. Why is this so important? Because I believe that this is one of the most crucial components for the next generation of educational environments. There has been a lot of talk in recent years about online learning, but in my opinion online, individualized learning will only really take off when we have a very robust and systematic online testing environment. I believe that Wolfram Problem Generator is an important step in that direction.

Bojan Tunguz
Bojan Tunguz was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which he and his family fled during the civil war for the neighboring Croatia. Over the past two decades he has studied, lived and worked in the United States. He is a theoretical physicist with degrees from Stanford and University of Illinois. Tunguz has taught physics at several prominent liberal arts colleges and has been writing about physics, science and technology for more than a decade.
