TaoTronics TT-BA03 Bluetooth 4.0 USB Adapter
I have an old Dell desktop that has gone through several upgrades over the years, and is pretty much at the end of what can be achieved with its native motherboard. Aside from completely upgrading the internals, I was eager to add the latest connectivity to it as well – USB 3.0, WiFi, and, of course, Bluetooth. Bluetooth is a great wireless standard for connecting the peripherals, especially to a desktop whose main USB ports are not easily accessible. In that regard this little Bluetooth dongle came in really handy.
My desktop is running Windows 8.1, so this dongle was immediately recognized. Once I had Bluetooth running I paired up the computer a Bluetooth Speaker and a Bluetooth Keyboard/trackpad combo. Both of them worked like a charm. There was no choppiness for the streamed music, and the keyboard was responsive and with no typing delay.
Another great use of this Bluetooth dongle is for the Raspberry Pi micro computer. Raspberry Pi is a wonderful little bare-bones computer, not much larger than a credit card. However, it requires that you bring your own peripherals, storage, etc., and it runs a very modified version of Linux operating system. It is an ideal setup for a compact bluetooth dongle, and to my great pleasant surprise this TaoTronics dongle was immediately recognized and installed. Thanks to it now I have a whole vista of possible hacking projects opening up to me. I am immensely excited about it.
Wonderful little dongle that works just as advertised at the price that can hardly be beat. Highly recommended.
