StatGear Auto Survival Kit
Ever since I got my first car I decided that investing a good emergency kit was a high priority for me. I’ve had one excellent emergency kit in the trunk of my car for years. However, if you find yourself in an emergency where you cannot reach your trunk, then having a more compact and easily accessible kit like this one from StatGear can really come in handy.
One of the best things about this emergency kits is the design of the case. It allows you to attach it to the sun visor. This is probably the most sensible place to keep it. In the case of serious emergency you want to have it within your reach. Unfortunately, this place is also not all that esthetically ideal, since it clutters up your car. So I keep it in the second best place – right underneath my car seat.
The case feels very well made and sturdy. The zipper is lightweight and easy to open, which, again, would come in handy in an emergency.
I have not tested most of the items in this package, since most of them cannot be reused. I hope that I never have to use them in a real emergency situation, but at least I have the peace of mind that I have enough of the basic emergency items if I ever need to use them.
One thing that I did test is the T3 Tactical Rescue Tool. This tool alone is worth more than the price of this entire package, and it’s probably the most effective and versatile such tool that I’ve come across. I’ve used similar tools in the past, and liked them. However, two things that really distinguish T3 from the pack are it spring-loaded windshield breaker and the small LED flashlight. Both of them can really make a difference if you are trying to free yourself from a tight spot, or need to cut something while in dark.
