I got this Y cable in order to enable my Canon DSLR camera to talk to my Android phone. It turns out that there are many small USB connectable devices that need extra juice in order to operate properly. Most of these devices are meant to work with your computer, in which case computer itself provides the power. However, with the increasing computational power of smartphones and tablets it is becoming increasingly important to be able to connect them with the USB gadgets. In which case a cable like this one comes in handy, as do many portable external batteries. I’ve also been able to use this Y cable to connect a small hard drive with a smart TV and watch movies that way. The cable is a bit on a short side, so you won’t be using to connect devices across the room. All in all, it’s a very useful cable that performs more than adequately for its purpose. The shipping from Amazon was smooth and quick.
