rilobite Extra Beefy / Wide 500 lb Paracord Survival Bracelet
Paracord is a very versatile and strong cord. Originally used for parachutes in World War II, it has become one of the favorite cords used for all sorts of outdoors activities.
This paracord bracelet collapses almost ten feet of paracord into a small weaved bracelet that fits most wrists. The bracelet attaches to itself with a very strong stainless steel clasp. The clasp consists of three small pieces – two hooks and a threaded pin that screws into one of the hooks through the eye of the other. The hooks can be adjusted so that the bracelet can accommodate practically any size wrist. It’s actually pretty tricky to clasp the bracelet, especially since you are doing it with just one hand. The pin is also very small, and it could potentially get lost if you are not careful enough. The bracelet comes with a spare pin though.
The bracelet is pretty wide and it seems at first to be really bulky. However, once I put it on it felt pretty comfortable on my wrist. It’s definitely the kind of bracelet that you could wear all day long.
So far I have not had the need to untangle this bracelet and use the paracord. Since paracord is very tightly and professionally weaved it would seem to be almost impossible to re-weave it back by hand. For all practical purposes this is a bracelet that would most likely come in handy in an emergency situation, and something that you could use on a a regular basis. However, with its very low and affordable price this doesn’t bother me in the least.
This is a really cool and simple accessory that every outdoorsman should probably have.
