OXO Good Grips Water Bottle Cleaning Set – Product Review

Over the years I’ve gone though many sports water bottles. They are a great way of keeping hydrated, but all of them are really a pain to clean. The combination of narrow necks, deep bottles, and very narrow straws makes it almost impossible to do a good job cleaning them. Inevitably most of them become dirty enough that I need to throw them away. There are a few high-end water bottles out there that allow you to unscrew the bottom and thus get an easier access to the interior, but I prefer to get just the good old generic bottles. So when I was given a chance to use and review the OXO water bottle cleaning set, I jumped at the opportunity to try it out. So far, I have been really glad and impressed with it.

The set comes with three cleaning tools: bottle brush, long straw brush, and a detail cleaner. The bottle brush is long and wide enough to clean water bottles up to 50 oz. It is curved and easy to handle. The straw brush is the most impressive of the three tools. It can easily go though all standard sized straws and bottle tubes. I was even able to thread it through the bottle mouthpiece. The detail tool is good for brushing all sorts of water bottle crevices and hard-to-reach places. All three brushes will get close to 100% of your water bottle cleaning done. The can be easily attached and removed from the accompanying plastic ring. Overall, a great tool that gets the job done. I think the days of needlessly wasting water bottles are finally behind me.
