Hakko CHP-170 Micro Clean Cutter, 16 Gauge Maximum Cutting Capacity

Screen Shot 2014-04-25 at 1.55.59 PMRecently I got into 3D printing, and discovered that I needed a lot of different finishing tools for my projects. Most 3D printed objects have a lot of additional material on them that needs to be cut off and removed before you can get to the finished product. In the past I’ve used razor blades and X-Acto knives, each of which has its strong points, but I’ve discovered that I needed something that is both strong and precise for these tasks. After working with these Hakko cutters for a few days, I can say that I have an almost perfect tool for my needs.

The cutters are small and well-built. They fit in your hand very nicely. They cut the extra plastic off very easily and precisely. They seem very durable and rust-resilient. I believe this is a product that I’ll get to use a lot over the next few years. The best of all, the cutter is *very* competitively priced. Highly recommended.
