Crap I Bought On eBay: 101 Crazy Bizarre, Seriously Weird, Ridiculously Raunchy Items Exposed – Book Review

One of my favorite things to look for on online shopping sites are the odd, bizarre, or weird items that people are selling. I’ve created a whole wish list on Amazon called “Crappy Products List.” Of course eBay, the mother of all P2P online shopping sites, would have an even more varied and frankly disturbing collection of items that make you scratch your head in wonder. “Crap I Bought on eBay” is and amusing collection of some of the wackiest items that you can buy these days. Some of the products are intentionally weird, and for those you marvel that someone would go to trouble of actually manufacturing them. Other items are weird due to the fact that they are being sold well outside of their original intended niche. For those all the humor is purely unintentional.

Cary McNeal and Beverly Jenkins, the authors of this book, actually bought every single item that it’s presented herein. All the products include a detailed description, the price, as well as the e-mail exchange with the seller (where applicable) and humorous comments by the authors. Some of the items that are included are “Giantmicrobes Head Lice Plush,” “Belt Buckle: `Eat Cheese or Die’,” “Viagra Clock,” “USMC M60A1 Tank” (the actual tank; not a toy model), “Israeli Military Gas Mask,” “Dinosaur Dung Fossil,” and many others.

Due to an extremely graphic nature of some items described herein, only adults should read this book. (I know, I know, now every teenage boy would want to read it.) Also, if you are easily offended or scandalized, then this book will not be for you. Otherwise this is a very humorous, amusing and well designed. It’s a fun book that would make a good silly gift for someone who really appreciates this kind of humor.
