Canon PIXMA MG3120 Wireless Inkjet Photo All-In-One (5289B019) – Product Review

I got this printer as an inexpensive low-end replacement for my home printer while I was away from home for an extended period. The printer was relatively easy to setup and use, even with the wireless network. The picture quality was pretty decent, even for the photo prints. The printing speed was OK – you would not want to print longer documents on this printer, but otherwise it gets the job done. I’ve printed several “legal” documents on this printer (leases for instance) and it was quite adequate for the task. The same goes for scanning – I got very good scans, but the scanning speed leaves a lot to be desired.

The only major shortcoming of this printer is that it doesn’t work across the board with all iOS applications. You can’t print Pages documents or pdf files for instance. You need to use Canon’s own app for printing, and then you are pretty much restricted to printing photos. If printing form your iOS device is something that you anticipate doing a lot, then I would recommend checking out some fo the more capable printers – the price of printers seems to be decreasing all the time while the quality and features just keep going up.
