20 HEXBUG-Compatible Batteries
Like most people who bought one of the Hexbug robotic toy bugs, I quickly discovered that their “lifespan” is pretty short. At best they provide you with about an hour or so of continuous operation. I wish they were powered by rechargeable batteries, but that would probably increase the cost of the toys significantly. Unfortunately, the batteries that they do use are pretty unique and not easily obtainable from the store. I was happy to find them on Amazon, but they were selling as an add-on item – meaning you had to buy something else in order to get the discounted price. I do however shop here pretty regularly, so that was not a major obstacle. I am also a member of Amazon Prime, so I once I ordered these batteries they arrived within one business day, which is very convenient.
So far I have had no major complaints about the batteries. They come in somewhat cheap packaging, so I am not sure who well manufactured they are and how reliable they’ll be in the long run. The batteries were easy to install. I wish the package contained 21 instead of 20 batteries though – the Hexbug I have runs on three of these.
