Simple Energy Works 7W LED Light Bulb

Screen Shot 2013-11-01 at 11.08.14 AMWhen commercial LED light bulbs first made their appearance, I was not terribly impressed. They were bulky, expensive, and the light they emitted was very cold and off-putting. However, they have come a long way since those days, and now they are emerging as my favorite source of light. I have been gradually replacing lights in my home with the LED bulbs, and am very happy with the results.

This is one of the smallest in size light bulbs that I have come across. It fits almost all light bulb sockets out there, which is a big consideration if you are just trying to get a generic light bulb. The quality of light is a bit on the cool side, but not terribly so. It’s nowhere near the “hospital glow” of some of the halogen light bulbs that I had tested. This light bulb is rated as an equivalent of an 60 W incandescent light bulb. I am not sure about those claims (I have no reasons to doubt them though), but the light emits enough light for my needs. I’ve installed this light bulb in my work desk lamp. In my opinion it is a perfect light bulb for reading and/or desk work.

The light bulb is solidly built, and it seems it will be effective for years to come. It is still too early to judge its energy consumption or durability. Right now I have no reasons not to give it the benefit of doubt. If anything changes in that regard, I’ll update my review.
