PNY OPTIMA 2GB DDR2 667 MHz PC2-5300 Desktop DIMM Memory – Product Review

I got this memory card for an older Dell PC that I was using as a media center. That computer was running Windows 7 Ultimate, but its performance had never been that great. The total memory was upgraded from 1 Gb to 3 Gb. This upgrade did speed up my computer somewhat, but not as dramatically as I had hoped. Ironically, applications that seemed to speed up the most were all non-Microsoft, with for instance Chrome performing remarkably well. Also, in the past when I’ve installed more memory on my Linux computers the improvement in performance was much more significant. So in a nutshell your experience with this memory upgrade will probably be constrained by what kind of hardware and operating system you have. Overall however, I am fairly satisfied with my purchase.
