Belkin Keyboard Folio for Samsung Galaxy 10inch Tablet – Product Review

I am usually a big fan of Belkin products. They have some of the nicest and most functional computer, tablet, and smartphone accessories out there. I was really looking forward to testing this Keyboard folio case and would have been really enthused about it if it fulfilled some of my basic needs for such a device. Unfortunately, despite some good and decent features, this case falls short of what I think it could be.

The case is not the prettiest to look at, and it will not be winning many cool design points. The 10in Galaxy tablet fits snuggly inside, although not without some effort. This wouldn’t be such a major issue if I was to leave the tablet inside all the time, but unfortunately this is not the case. There are two main reasons for this: the case makes my tablet look and feel really thick and bulky, and even more importantly the case covers the charging port and makes it impossible to charge Galaxy Tablet while inside.

The keyboard for this case is OK. Like all such keyboard it’s rather small, but that’s the price you pay for having a keyboard that will work with a tablet. It is made out of hard plastic. It has decent typing action, although it’s far from being my favorite keyboard. I will not be writing my great American novel on it any time soon.

I am still looking for a perfect keyboard cover for a tablet. The latest “smart” covers for Windows Surface Pro seem to be the best in terms of convenience and functionality based on my limited experience with them. I would hope that more manufacturers would stop cutting corners and try to emulate some of the winning design of that cover.

This is a decent keyboard cover with all the basic functionality, but I was really hoping and expecting much more.
