Neiko 01407A Stanless Steel 6-Inch Digital Caliper with Extra-Large LCD Screen and Instant SAE-Metric Conversion – Product Review

I got these calipers for some small home design projects that I was working on. I am a Physics professor, and have over the years used digital calipers in various labs and I have always been a big fan of them. They are easy to use and incredibly accurate. These Neiko calipers are at least as accurate as anything else I’ve used before. I’ve “calibrated” them against several high-precision manufactured products, such as iPhones, and have been very impressed with the results. However, they do feel a bit “rough” and not exactly the most smoothly-manufactured. The box in particular is made of plastic and the hinge will probably give out after few months of moderate use – if not sooner. The caliper itself seems durable and more than adequate for even heavy daily use.

If you are using these calipers for your own purposes then they will definitely work. They would also probably be more than adequate for professional or semi-professional use, but as I am not using them in such a context I can not vouch for this 100%. Personally I am really happy with them.
