VicTsing Phoenix Bluetooth Waterproof Shower/Outdoor Portable Speaker

Screen Shot 2015-06-30 at 12.47.17 PMI love my iPhone and iPad, but when it comes to listening to music and other audio without the help of headphones, they leave something to be desired. I have several docks, Bluetooth receivers and speakers, but most of them are either too bulky or not all that convenient for spontaneous use. This small and elegant VicTsing speaker exactly fits in that niche. It is a well-designed medium sized speaker that delivers the audio experience that punches well above its weight. It is also pretty ruggedly designed and waterproof, so it is an ideal speaker for outdoors use.

One of the best features of this speaker is its sound quality. This small device can really deliver crisp, loud sound that goes well beyond what one would expect from a portable speaker. As a single speaker that transfers music via Bluetooth there are naturally physical and technological limitations to what any speaker with these design characteristics could pull off, but aside from that this speaker really manages to impress.

The speaker was really easy to pair up with my iPhone – I just turned it on and connected to it from my system preferences menu. I have not tried using it with other devices, but I suspect that it would be equally easy to use.

Both its shape and size allow for this speaker to be easily portable. The speaker can easily be placed on any flat surface. The suction cup allows you to stick it to almost any smooth surface, while the hanger lets you place it on various hooks or other protruding attachments. Thanks to its fun design this speaker is very versatile in terms of its possible uses.

The speaker also features a built-in microphone, which means that it could be used as a speakerphone as well. However, I have not put it to such use. In general I am not a big fan of speakerphones and wireless headsets. Most of them leave a lot to be desired in terms of clarity of voice conversation. For my money wired headsets provide the best combination of clarity and convenience.

This is a very convenient and inexpensive portable speaker that definitely delivers on its premise.
