J-Tech Digital Wii to HDMI 720P / 1080P Converter

Screen Shot 2014-11-19 at 2.47.25 PMThis is one really cool little adapter. If you own a Wii console you absolutely have to get something like this in order to enjoy the best video experience on your HDTV. The adapter plugs in easily and securely into the Wii console on one end and HDMI cable on the other. The upscaling to a higher resolution seems is pretty good overall, with just some minor pixelation artifacts here and there. The converter allows you to plug in the audio cable directly in it, which comes in handy if you want to use the headphones directly with it.

The converter seems to be well designed and durable. It follows the similar minimalist utilitarian look of other J-Tech converters and splitters. This is fine with me, as these devices are generally hidden from the view anyways.

One minor design issue is that you need to use a paperclip in order to access the switch between the 720p and 1080p settings. As pretty much all HDTVs these days happen to feature the 1080p (or higher) resolutions, for all practical purposes this is not a major issue.
