Insten USB 3.0 All-in-1 Multi Card Reader

Screen Shot 2015-02-10 at 10.29.58 AMI have used this versatile card reader with several of my SD cards, and it has performed as expected with all of them. The transfer speeds were noticeably faster than with my other card reader, but I did not use any benchmarking tools to get the precise transfer speeds. The transfer speeds seem consistent with the USB 3 standard though. I have tried using it with both the USB 2 and USB 3 ports, and it worked with both of them. I have only used it with the SD and micro SD card, but the reader supports many others as well (Compact Flash & Micro Drive, M2, Micro SD (TF), MMCPlus, MS & MS Pro, MS Pro Duo, SD & SDHC & MMC, XD card). The card reader comes with an USB 3 cable, and is overall noticeably bulkier than the compact card readers that I normally use.

The reader seems well made and durable. It has a very utilitarian, no-nonsense look to it. This is not a peripheral you buy for its aesthetic appeal, but it gets its basic work done.

If you have a variety of different standard media cards than this reader would be a good option for you. However, if you primarily use SD and micro SD cards than a more compact reader might be a more convenient and cheaper option.
