GMYLE iPhone 6 Plus Case

Screen Shot 2015-02-11 at 11.17.01 AMI am not a big fan of smartphone cases. I believe that iPhone is one of the best consumer electronics products ever designed, and I hate to have its beauty obstructed. I eventually stopped using cases with my iPhone 4S, and have not had any issues because of it. I had dropped that phone several times without any serious issues. However, iPhone 6 happens to be a much more fragile beast. Its glass cover, which extends well over the phone’s edge, is easily chipped and scratched, something that has unfortunately already happened to my iPhone 6 plus. So I have been on a lookout for an adequate case for a while, but until I came across this Gmyle case none were really after my taste. This case, however, almost perfectly fits my needs.

The case is very minimalistic, and in terms of weight and bulk it adds the absolute minimum to your phone. The case is relatively easy to fit, yet it clings to your iPhone very snuggly. Maybe a bit too snuggly for some purposes – I tried taking it off, and could not do so without prying it with a small tool.

The case leaves almost all of your ports and buttons easily accessible. The exceptions are the on/off switch and the volume control buttons. They are still accessible through the slightly indented parts of the case, but this is far from the ease of access of an unobstructed buttons.

The case is made out of several different layered materials – hard plastic shell covered with nice outer leather layer, and a soft felt-like padding on the inside. I really like this kind of multilayered build, and the leather feels very elegant and stylish. However, it is easily scratchable and after prolonged use will lose some of its simple elegance.

The case still leaves the phone’s screen exposed. If you are concerned about it getting scratched, you might want to invest in a screen protector.

Overall, I am really happy with this case and hope for it to serve me well for the next few years.
