Eachine Wood Stereo Speaker
I have used and tested several Bluetooth speakers, and I am still impressed with how far this category of devices has come in recent years. Eachine Wood Stereo Speaker is definitely one of the better ones in terms of sound quality. It also features very elegant and innovative wooden design that blends in well with many different home decors.
Pairing this speaker was very straightforward. It was immediately recognized by both my iPhone 6 plus and my iPad. The connectivity was pretty good, about as good as you could expect from any Bluetooth device these days. I was able to stream music to it from the next room in my house, and in an open space it can be connected without any issues up to fifty feet or so.
The sound quality is very good. I’ve used it to listen to a few music genera that I usually listen to – classical, pop, electronic, alternative. It performed remarkably well in all of those categories. Both the high and low notes were very crisp and clear, and even the bass was pretty powerful for such a small package. The speaker could also get really loud, but I did not try to test it too hard in this category.
The speaker is nicely designed and it looks fairly elegant, especially the wooden design. When turned off completely all the displays disappear and the speaker looks just like any odd wooden decorative piece. It’s this inconspicuousness that sets this speaker apart from most similar bluetooth speakers that I’ve come across.
This is not the smallest Bluetooth speaker that you’ll come across, but it’s still very portable and easy to place wherever you are.
The speaker comes with a rechargeable battery, which is a great feature in its own right and sets it apart from the competition. It’s charged through a USB cable, and it takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to have it fully charged. Speaker can last up to five hours on a single charge, depending on how loudly you play the music. It also comes with a small audio cable which you can use to connect it to phone jack of devices that don’t support Bluetooth.
The speaker also doubles as a Qi wireless charger. My iOS devices don’t support wireless charging, but I do have an old Galaxy S3 phone with a modified battery that I was able to use and charge. Qi charging is not the most efficient way of charging your phone – it really requires you to position your phone very precisely, and it can take much longer to charge than directly through the USB cable. Nonetheless, I was able to charge my old Android phone completely. This is a nice feature to have if you usually charge your phone overnight and have positioned your speaker next to your bed. All you need to do is place the phone on top of it when you go to bed at night, and you’ll have a fully charged phone waiting for you in the morning!
The speaker also supports the speakerphone feature, but as I am not a big fan of speakerphones I have not tested it in this regard.
If you are looking for an elegant and effective Bluetooth speaker with good sound, then you should consider Eachine Wood Stereo Speaker. It is as good of a midrange Bluetooth speaker as I’ve come across. Highly recommended.
