DBPOWER Bluetooth Wrist SMART Bracelet Watch (OLED LED, Touch Screen, Anti-theft)

Screen Shot 2015-02-06 at 11.24.35 AMHere is the bottom line: if you have high expectations from this device, either on par with one of the “smart” watches out there, or even with some of the more basic and less capable devices, you’ll be very disappointed. This bracelet is a very basic peripheral Bluetooth device for your newer Android smartphone. When paired up (requires a smartphone running Android 4.1 or newer) it will exchange some basic information with your phone and allow you to receive notifications. The screen is very, very small and it can hold only a very limited amount of text on it. Enough to get a sense what the notification is about, but definitely not enough space to comfortably read a message. The touch-screen is also a bit hard to navigate, and I tend to resort fiddling with it at the least I have to. All of this is just fine with me. I like the ability to take a quick glance at my wrist when I receive a notification, and then if it’s something interesting or important I can read more about it on my phone. I really don’t envision myself using a “smart watch” for much more for a foreseeable future. And if I did, I would then be happy to dish out hundreds of $$$ that would warrant a more capable device.

The bracelet was a bit finicky to pair up and set up. It is fairly well made, and it looks pretty elegant IMHO. It comes in just one size, and it has pretty unisex appeal. The bracelet is not waterproof, so don’t use it in rain or while exercising. I also believe that for what it delivers it is extremely competitively priced.
