Bluetooth E27 LED Light Bulb Speaker – Yellow

Screen Shot 2015-04-29 at 10.54.00 AMThis is a very interesting fusion product, and something that I think fills in a particular niche of consumer electronic products. I have several LED light bulbs (I am on my way to completely replace all of the incandescent ones), and I use several Bluetooth speakers. Most of them work great, but they need to be constantly charged, and I am getting sick and tired of all the cable clutter. Having the speaker permanently plugged in into a light bulb socket, while still being able to use the lightbulb AND control it remotely is a stroke of genius.

The lightbulb is pretty bright, but I would not use it as the main light bulb for a large room. It works best with side lamps and in small enclosures. The light is a bit on the cold side for my taste, but it’s not too bad overall. I really like the ability to dim it remotely, but now I need to keep the remote handy wherever I go in the house, or at least the vicinity of the light bulb. It would have been nice if it could be completely controlled via Bluetooth from an app on your phone for instance.

The music quality of the speaker is just OK. It’s not the best speaker that I’ve come across by any stretch of imagination. It was easy to pair up with my iPhone though, and allowed me to listen to the music in places around the house (such as the bathroom) where I usually don’t have a habit of listening to it.

Overall, this is a pretty good product. A few tweaks could make it into a truly great product, and I hope to see some of these things implemented in the subsequent version of this light bulb.
