Bissell 1422 The Anna Upright Cordless/Hybrid Vacuum

Screen Shot 2014-08-24 at 9.07.22 AMThis is a very impressive vacuum cleaner for its category. I am overall not a big fan of battery-powered major appliances – the single battery charge usually lasts for only a very limited amount of time, the battery itself has a limited number of recharge cycles, and the power that these appliances produce is usually rather meagre. All of these issues are true with this Anna vacuum cleaner as well. Nonetheless, it has a lot of positive features that make such shortcomings more than tolerable.

Anna’s suction power is pretty good. I’ve owned a couple of Dyson vacuum cleaners (one “regular” kind and a small handheld rechargeable one), and Anna’s can’t quite compete with the corded upright one in terms of suction. Nonetheless, it provides you with an impressive amount of suction for at least the first ten to fifteen minutes of use. However, the really great thing about Anna is that as a cordless upright vacuum it can easily be maneuvered into nooks and corners that are out of reach of any corded vacuum cleaner. In my case that definitely gives me an incentive to do more of the spur-of-the moment vacuuming tasks than I otherwise would have gone for. Having a cordless vacuum changes your whole approach and attitude to vacuuming for the better. So in terms of how much cleaner my house gets in the long run a cordless vacuum is certainly an improvement. For that alone Anna is worth your serious consideration.
