100 HEXBUG-Compatible Batteries

Screen Shot 2014-11-12 at 10.40.51 AMLike most people who bought one of the Hexbug robotic toy bugs, I quickly discovered that their “lifespan” is pretty short. At best they provide you with about an hour or so of continuous operation. I wish they were powered by rechargeable batteries, but that would probably increase the cost of the toys significantly. Unfortunately, the batteries that they do use are pretty unique and not easily obtainable from the store. I was happy to find them on Amazon, but the 20 battery package was selling as an add-on item – meaning you had to buy something else in order to get the discounted price. I do however shop here pretty regularly, so that was not a major obstacle. I am also a member of Amazon Prime, so I once I ordered these batteries they arrived within one business day, which is very convenient. The 100 piece package can be bought outright though, and if you or your kids play with hexbugs a lot this might be a very convenient option to consider, especially considering the price.

So far I have had no major complaints about the batteries. I’ve already bought the smaller of these packages, and the batteries in it lasted me almost a year without any apparent diminishment in their power, and I expect the same performance out this new crop of batteries. The batteries were easy to install. Most hexbug critters require three batteries to operate, so I wish that these packages offered batteries in multiples of three.
